The contempt for conservatives and Christians, especially when those two identities overlap, is well known and documented. The question becomes why? Is it because the left relentlessly opposes what those in the former group stand for? Sure, but what else can it be? Conservatives oppose what the left stands for but as a whole we don’t have contempt for them.
This sudden need from the left over the past couple of decades to cancel and erase what conservatives and Christians stand for has become obsessive. From getting rid of school names that bear great American founders and others. The 1619 Project from the New York Times, an attempt to erase what this great country was founded on. But, what is it exactly they hate? I believe its is Christianity. The left has turned its hate to this country and its founding. Even before the founding back to 1619. Nowhere in our history do we find the pilgrims or William Penn. Whole groups of people that came to this continent to escape slavery while simultaneously supporting Christianity. The left discounts this, obviously, by covering it up and ignoring all together. (An important note: the slaves that came to Jamestown in 1619 were not all African, although this slave ship did just leave the North Atlantic Slave trade. There were approximately 20 slaves and ALL of them were indentured slaves that received their freedom after the agreed amount of time, Africans and Europeans. These indentured slaves went on to purchase more slaves including chattel slavery.)
Ultimately, I believe, it’s freedom that the left hates. Freedom is what the left cannot allow. Freedom has consequences and allows people to do things others don’t like. After all, when Jesus came to this earth on the first Christmas what did He bring? Freedom. Freedom from sin, salvation from sin. What did the founding of this country seek? Freedom. Freedom from government, from a king. Just like other freedoms, freedom from sin comes with responsibility. Its a strange dichotomy the more discipline you have the more freedom you have. This is what the left seeks to eradicate, responsibility because they hate freedom. If you remove freedom it removes responsibility from our hands to theirs.
One must give up freedom in exchange for discipline. For example if I take a job in exchange for goods or services I have to give up my freedom in some capacity in this exchange. If I go to church I give up my freedom for the discipline to be there. With this discipline I then earn more freedom in the long run. Its a win-win relationship. Its still my choice to give up my freedom in this exchange.
Now, if the government pays me to stay at home what do I give up in exchange? Freedom, just like in the example above, except I don’t have a choice when the government mandates I do something. Is that a fair exchange? Some would argue it would be.
This country was founded on freedom and the responsibility that comes with it. It was founded on the principles that our rights come from God and that a proper government can’t take away those rights. They can only protect them. So in order to destroy this country, the left has to make you hate it. In order for you to hate it, you have to not understand it. If you don’t understand it, they can tear it apart. It’s that simple. Freedom stands in the way and if you are willing to give up your freedom for money from the government or whatever gift the government gives, freedom isn’t really in the way.
Christianity is a bedrock on which freedom exists. Make no mistake about it, this country was founded on biblical truths in freedom. Which, as I stated in the beginning, that is why the left hates Christianity so much, because its so intertwined with the founding of our country. In order to destroy this country the left must separate the founding from Christianity and then destroy them separately. This will allow them to detach the country from Christianity and rebuild better without freedom.
Freedom is paradox in which one exchanges their own freedom for others. Other times we give up freedoms for the common good. The freedom to drive as fast as we want, not pay taxes, or not wear a seat belt for example. Now what if I ask you to exchange some freedom for a perceived good. The freedom to not wear a mask, not take a vaccine, have the correct politics to hold a job, or get a good degree from a prestigious college. Going even farther what if I wrap it around Christianity? Are you willing to give up going to church just to not wear a mask, or not to get vaccinated? Perhaps you are ok with these things. Freedom can be difficult to maintain. It can all fall apart and crumble, without freedom.
That’s what the left wants is to destroy freedom bit-by-bit. How much freedom are you willing to give up?
